Alaska Airlines Name Change Policy

In Accordance with Alaska Airlines name Change Policy, Travellers are permitted to make required name changes / corrections in their flight ticket in a time window of 24 hours of reservation without paying any additional fees but in case they exceed this time frame, penalty fees will be incurred. It is important to keep this thing in consideration that request to name change/correction requires government issues identity such as marriage certificate.

Alaska Airlines has some rules and regulations associated with the passengers requesting for name change/correction. Please conform to the following ordinances:-

• Alaska Airlines allows passengers to make changes/corrections up to 3 characters i.e.  Richerd to Richard. In addition to this, inversion of first name and last name and accidental addition of the last name to the middle name field, etc.
• Airlines do not permit travellers to make full name changes , except in case of legal name changes ie The airline strictly prohibits transferring tickets to another person as they are non-transferable.
• Legal name changes due to marriage or divorce are also permitted, as long as you can present a marriage or divorce certificate or a valid copy of your old and new government-issued IDs. 
• Passengers are requested to present valid documentation to update (i.e., correct or change) the name appearing on your ticket, especially in case of a legal name change.

NOTE : Alaska Airlines provides name change or correction in flight ticket for two reasons only :-

• If the name is misspelled or there is minor error in name.
• Incase of marriage or divorce , legal documentaries are needed.

How to Change Name on Alaska Airlines Ticket?

• Go to the official website of Alaska Airlines or paste the link  https://www.alaskaair.com/  in your preferred browser, it will take you to the main page of website. Enter to login Credential to access your reservation.
• Then , Navigate to the “Manage Booking” Header and click it. It will display all the available option , here you are required to select the change or cancel the reservation option/
• Now , you are required to enter your booking details (kindly refer to your ticket to avoid any confusion) and hit he OK button.

• Now, go for “my booking management” in the same menu.
• After this you can make changes your flight tickets by selecting the Alaska Airlines to manage my booking option and following the necessary steps.
• If you have over the no-cost change limit, you must pay the Alaska change flight fee. After paying the cost, you can begin.

• Dial the customer service number and listen to the instructions given by IVR(interactive voice response) carefully in order to reach to right person .
• Once you are connected with the customer agent, explain them your concern , you might be required to provide your valid document for proof.
• After this, customer staff will make necessary changes to your flight ticket . you may also need to pay some penalty fees as per the alaska airlines name change policy.

On successful completion of above steps , a mail will be sent to your registered mail id with the modified flight ticket.

 Alaska Airlines charges a certain amount of money when you come to make changes in your registered name with the airline. The service is free of cost if you follow the procedure within 24 hours of your booking time.But you will pay US$125 as a penalty if you strive after the 24-hour window.
